HEE Workforce Planning 2014/15 call for evidence

16 April 2014

HEE’s purpose is to support the delivery of high quality health care by ensuring that our workforce has the right numbers, skills, values and behaviors. To achieve this goal we must identify what these ‘right’ numbers, skills, values and behaviors are, and then decide where we should target our £4bn of public funding so that it is invested where it will be most effectively used.

Identifying this need, the ‘right’ workforce, and the subsequent investment plan to deliver this workforce, is the purpose of our comprehensive workforce planning guidance.

In the Call for Evidence Template are examples of the kind of areas we expect stakeholders may wish to provide evidence and perspectives on. However we recognise this is not a comprehensive list and partner may submit any evidence they consider pertinent to supporting better decision making, within the context of our role and responsibilities.

Wherever possible, we would like the evidence to be submitted in time to inform the discussions and decisions set out in the planning guidance. The call for evidence is accessible and open to stakeholders all year round. However, to influence discussions between HEE and NHS England over the summer and autumn and to be considered in triangulation against numbers and other evidence, submissions should be made by 30 June 2014. We recognise that this is a challenging timetable.
