People's Advisory Forum
The People's Advisory Forum ensures the views of patients and the public remain integral to HEE's decision making.
The Forum assists, advises and challenges the HEE Board to provide assurance that:
- The patient and public voice is a key factor in the education, training and workforce planning process
- Patient and public views are invited, gathered and acted on as part of decision making processes
- Decisions relating to patients and the public are taken in an open and transparent way
- Due attention to equality, diversity and inclusion is embedded in decision making
The People's Advisory Forum is made up of 18 public voice partners; individuals are also members of the four Local Education and Training Boards, and ensure a two way conversation on the supply of the local health and care workforce, providing NHS funded services and supporting national workforce priorities.
The committee is currently chaired by Dr Elizabeth Mear, Non-Executive Director, HEE. Mark Radford, HEE’s Chief Nurse, is the senior responsible officer.

Having a voice for mothers and service users ensures that maternity programme partners focus on how to achieve benefits for patients through what we do, and ensure we are working towards what they really want - to improve future maternity care and receive continuity from a highly skilled, multidisciplinary workforce placing the needs of mothers and families at the centre of good practice.
The People's Advisory Forum annual review
The People's Advisory Forum has launched a review of their work over the past year. The review provides an insight into the crucial role played by the patient and public voice in HEE’s work.
People's Advisory Forum members have contributed to a diverse range of projects for HEE in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders.The review includes information about the members, the achievements of the forum across a breadth of projects and testimonials from colleagues they have worked with at HEE.
