Find Your Way Ambassador - Volunteer Call Out

Do you have a passion for helping others? Are you interested in improving the experience of health learners as they begin working in the NHS or on placement? If so, you may be interested in being a Find Your Way Ambassador for our work on Disability & Health Education, starting at this year’s NHS Expo in June 2022.

We need people who are as passionate as we are about helping all our health learners, joining the NHS workforce, to get the right information and support on adjustments. By becoming a volunteer ambassador, you can help us reach more people and make a real difference. It’s the perfect volunteer opportunity! Your contribution in both time and energy will ensure our work has the maximum impact and improves the experience of our health learners as they begin working in the NHS or on placement.  Help us to shape a more positive experience for everyone.

Think you’re up to the challenge to be part of an enthusiastic team of our volunteer ambassadors? Apply by 26 May 2022.  Our induction/training session is on the 14 June 2022, in Liverpool.

 

- Be part of an enthusiastic and engaging peer network all committed to supporting transformation here in our NHS.

- Develop new skills and build on existing ones through training and participation.

- Help develop and deliver great people-focussed events.

- Be an ambassador and take pride in sharing new work with people.

- We aim to give all our Find Your Way Ambassadors a valuable and rewarding experience.

- We will provide the tools for the job and the back-up of the volunteer team and create opportunities for you to meet colleagues working across the NHS.

- Help with travelling expenses.

As a member of the volunteer team, you will:

- Participate in a Training the Trainer Style event – with a focus on facilitation skills. Afternoon of 14 June 2022 (3hrs – with lunch)

- Be onsite at the NHS Expo on the 15 or 16 June (Liverpool)

- Subject to your availability, take part in future events.  Attend briefing and de-briefing sessions.

- Support, mentor and motivate fellow volunteer ambassadors in their role.

- Support us in shaping our programme and our aims and objectives of making the NHS the Best Place to Work for everyone.

To take on a volunteer Find Your Way Ambassador role you will need to:

- Have enthusiasm and a positive approach.

- Be willing to use and share your personal leadership skills and experience

- Be a good communicator – effective team players can express their thoughts and visions in a clear and understandable manner.

- Remain calm when working under pressure, especially when you’re working in a very busy environment.

- Be open to growing in confidence when dealing with the public.

- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Live our NHS Values and demonstrate what being inclusive means.
