Stakeholder Pulse Survey 2021-2022

Perceptions of HEE from key national stakeholders.

We've been talking to our closest national partners and stakeholders to understand how they view HEE.

Between December 2021 and February 2022, senior HEE staff interviewed 19 of our closest national partners and stakeholders to gather perceptions on how they view HEE. Interview questions focused particularly on how HEE had changed over the year and since the first stakeholder survey was conducted in summer 2019.

Most stakeholders were very positive about their relationship with HEE and valued our work and expertise. They identified a couple of areas where the relationship could be even better, and suggested areas which would benefit from stronger future focus, such as offers of support for Integrated Care Systems (ICS).

A strong message from stakeholders was a concern that HEE’s focus on education and training should be carried forward strongly into the new NHS England, and that our areas of expertise should be preserved. HEE is considering how best to ensure this as part of our board discussions around the transition.

Stakeholders also saw opportunities in bringing the organisations together, notably the better integration of workforce and services, and streamlining the national and regional landscape for system level bodies.
