East of England NHS Ambassador Network and Peer Support Offer

24 November 2023

NHS ambassadors

NHS ambassadors play a vital role in inspiring our NHS workforce of the future and NHS England is keen to recruit and support more.

Ambassadors are NHS colleagues who volunteer their time to talk about opportunities within health and care, based on their own journey and experiences. Through careers events, webinars, school assemblies and more, they play a key role in informing the next generation of staff to realise their potential and pursue an NHS career which is right for them.

Ambassadors represent the wide range of roles that make up the NHS workforce, helping to stamp out myths and provide a realistic view of careers in health and care.

There are a number of ways to become an NHS ambassador in the east of England, including signing up to Inspiring the Future’s NHS Ambassador programme, becoming a health ambassador through your local Trust, or engaging with your local Health and Care Academy.

Supporting ambassadors

The East of England NHS Ambassador Network has been set up by the regional Talent for Care team, in collaboration with Inspiring the Future, to bring together ambassadors from across the region and provide a dedicated space for volunteers to connect, share resources, offer advice, and address challenges.

The network has a dedicated NHS Futures page and hosts regular information and peer support sessions to inform, celebrate and support ambassadors from across the region.

The network will be hosting its next Peer Support session on Thursday 14 December, offering an informal space for current and prospective Ambassadors to come together and share their experiences.

You can find out more about what to expect from the session in the flyer below, and you can sign-up to attend via the following link.
