Scenario Planning 2035: driving change, transformation and innovation with NHS Devon Integrated Care Board

One Devon is a partnership established by Devon’s Integrated Care Board to enable the vision of everyone in Devon having access to integrated and collaborative health, care and wellbeing services.
HEE’s south west Transformation Team, using the Scenario Planning 2035 tool designed in the region, has been working with Devon’s Integrated Care Board to create a bespoke programme of work to deliver the One Devon ambition.
Opportunities were created for people in clinical and non-clinical roles to step away from operational activity and consider the future service and workforce needs of the system in workshops, and via senior executive interviews. Our south west integrated planning team is supporting the work by utilising the outputs within their optioneering tool to ensure workforce supply against resulting plans out to 2035.
One Devon is using the data from the tool to inform their workforce strategy for 2023-2028. Resources used in the project can be found here and a short video introducing the One Devon scenario planning tool can also be viewed here.
The HEE south west transformation team commissioned the development of a scenario planning project, with The Staff College, to create a tool that looks 15 years forward in time. Read more here.
