What provision will be in place for the newly commissioned medical training programme posts?

HEE will only support the decommissioning of a post in one area when assurance is provided that there are quality training environments and educator support provided in the gainer area. The knowledge of our Local Offices and the relationships they have with providers locally is key to this. They are working closely with their healthcare systems to increase the capacity of educational support in all areas, with a programme priority to support those in remote, rural and coastal locations. The Creating Educational Capacity workstream is supporting four pilots to consider new ways of providing educational support to trainees. Following evaluation of the pilots, a report will be published to enhance the implementation of these across the country.
