HEE is supporting neonatal services and is working with NHS England/Improvement to support the implementation of the Neonatal Critical Review (NCCR).
As part of this HEE is:
- Undertaking a deep dive into Neonatal Qualified in Specialty (QIS) training and education; and
- Supporting the expansion and awareness of Allied Health Professionals (AHP) in neonatal services.
HEE has developed a suite of neonatal resources on e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH):
- Avoiding Term Admissions into Neonatal Units;
-Breastmilk Provision for Preterm and Sick Neonates
-Immunisation on Neonatal Units
-Working with Families to transition from neonatal units to home; and
-Midwifery identification, stabilisation and transfer of the sick newborn.
These can be accessed on the Maternity and Newborn programme on the e-Learning for Healthcare platform (e-LfH).
