Neonatal

NHS England Workforce, Training and Education has been working collaboratively with key neonatal stakeholders across England to support the implementation of the Neonatal Critical care Review (NCCR).

As part of this we are:

  • Implementing the newly published national standards for neonatal Qualified in Specialty (QIS) education
  • Supporting the expansion and awareness of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) within neonatal services

HEE has developed a suite of neonatal resources on e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH):

- Avoiding Term Admissions into Neonatal Units;

-Breastmilk Provision for Preterm and Sick Neonates

-Immunisation on Neonatal Units

-Working with Families to transition from neonatal units to home; and

-Midwifery identification, stabilisation and transfer of the sick newborn.

These can be accessed on the Maternity and Newborn programme on the e-Learning for Healthcare platform (e-LfH).
