Our aim is to transform pharmacy education and training pathways, to support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through their learning journey, at each step in their career.
This is an exciting time for the pharmacy profession. Initial education and training reforms are under way, to enable pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to play a much greater role in providing clinical care from their first day of registration.
Ensuring that workforce training and development strategies align with and follow seamlessly on from these reforms is vital to developing pharmacy professionals with the right skills, values and behaviours, at the right time and in the right place.
We want to work closely with employers, learners and educators and NHS colleagues to understand and respond to the training needs of the pharmacy workforce across all sectors. Our aim being to ensure that all education and training offers are proportionate to identified workforce need.
We are working closely with educators, learners, employers and NHS colleagues to set the best possible structures for the profession: supporting lifelong learning, career progression, and professional fulfilment, for the benefit of patients – and developing the infrastructure required to support workforce planning now and for the future.
We invite colleagues to work with us on the development, testing and delivery of workforce transformation across all areas of pharmacy practice.
