Stay updated: the south west Workforce Transformation

28 October 2022

The south west team is currently working on 45 transformational projects lending support to priority programmes, such as Cancer and Diagnostics, Allied Health Professions, Pharmacy, Nursing and Midwifery, social care and Dental, as well as with the Integrated Care Systems within the region.

The team are particularly busy facilitating workshops using workforce transformation tools and methodologies:

  • HEE’s Star model for workforce redesign brings together local knowledge and subject matter experts to explore your workforce challenges and identify key projects that could deliver improvements
  • Scenario Planning 2035 developed by HEE south west Transformation team with The Staff College. Four plausible versions of future health and care systems exist: the National Wellbeing Service, Treadmill System, Two-Tier System and the Networked System. In a workshop, these scenarios are examined to inspire debate and innovation to design the workforce that will be needed to meet the challenges of the future
  • HEE’s Spread and Adopt methodology is being used to assess and share improvements and innovations from the region.

The team can also assist with other tools, enablers and techniques such as project design and consultancy, Clinically-Led workforce and Activity Redesign (CLEAR), HEE Roles Explorer, Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Toolkit, evaluation and impact assessment.

The workforce transformation team has also been part of HEE SW’s Workforce Integrated Planning teams Scenario Modelling workshops. Taking a deep dive into priority programmes workforce data and supporting follow-up conversations.
