Year 1

The first year of the pilot ran from January 2021 – December 2021 and involved eight sites across the NHS in England and has been evaluated to enable shared learning and adoption at scale.

Novel service developments in the pilot included Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) projects, the development of an ‘emergency village’ to improve patient pathways, and, with North West Ambulance Service, direct paramedic referral into SACRU to avoid Emergency Department admission.
