Escalating Concerns

Any issues about the quality of education and training need to be addressed openly and transparently, with information shared to ensure we protect the interests of patients.  Learners are uniquely placed, they are the eyes and ears of the service, and provide valuable information about the effectiveness of their education and training and, in turn, the quality and safety of patient care. 

HEE have developed an e-learning session and two films ‘Raising Concerns’ and ‘Responding to Concerns’ .

The arrangements for commissioning and contracting for education  requires mechanisms for raising concerns to be in place across the region in both educational institutions and placement provider organisations. The aim is to ensure that concerns are responded to in a timely and appropriate manner, in order to safeguard the public, staff and learners of this region.

If you have a concern this should be raised in the first instance with the specific education or placement provider.  Where this is not possible or escalation is required please email quality_team.yh@hee.nhs.uk
